Chapel Hill a hard place to leave Back in the days when the walks of Chapel H ill were sand, it was said that if the sand got in your shoes you could never leave. Evidently that must have happened to Katherine Carmichael, an English professor and advisor at UNC for 31 years. At 64, Miss Carmichael is not about to give up her work and is embarking on a trip to Turkey where she will teach English to Turkish students at the Istanbul Language and Cultural Association housed in the U.S. Counsel there. Many beer drinkers swear by the name of Coors, a beer that some contend is in a class by itself. Until now, Coors has been unavailable in North Carolina. But a newly-formed Greensboro corporation wants to change that. It all depends on the state's Alcoholic Control Board. Staff writer Nancy Hartis' story is on page X Carolina Bridge Club invites all bridge players, regardless of ability, to play duplicate bridge on Wednesday afternoons beginning at 1:30-in Room 207 of the Carolina Union. The summer Di Phi is sponsoring a Trivia Contest on Thursday at 9 p.m. at third floor New West. The contest is open to any and all interested persons. Questions will cover campus trivia, in addition to general information questions. A public meeting will be conducted by the Residency Counseling Service of the Student Consumer Action Union to familiarize students with procedures involved in obtaining in-state status for tuition purposes.
