Piano and Cello Recital The
Duke Univ. Music Dept. will present
Fred Raimi, cello, and his wife, Jane
Hawkins, piano, in a duo recital in the
East Duke Music Room at 8:15 on
Saturday, Sept. 17. The program will
feature the music of Debussy, Bach,
Boccherini and Beethoven. Both Raimi
and Hawkins are familiar chamber
musicians in this area.
Rock Around the Block
Operation Breakthrough, Durham's
community action agent, is sponsoring a
fund-raising festival called Rock
Around the Block on Sept. 17, 1977,
from 3 p.m. until ! 1. The festival, which
will feature the music of thirteen local
and regional bands, will be held at the
Whitted Jr. High School playground,
located on South Roxboro St. and
Umstead St. The bands range from
bluegrass to soul rock. Homemade
baked goods will be sold.
Orange County Special
Progressive bluegrass, country and
country rock is played on Sunday from
2 to 5 p.m. on WXYC-FM, 89.3
Tuesday Evening concert Sept.

Exhibition and sale A special
exhibition and sale of original graphic
works will be presented Tuesday Sept.
20 in Ackland Museum from 10 a.m. to
5 p.m. The nationally recognized and
respected Tomlinson Collection of
Baltimore will display works by old and
modern masters such as Durer, M uscha,
Whistler, Renoir, Picasso, and
Hokusai, plus a selection of etchings,
woodcuts and lithographs by
distinguished contemporaries in all
price ranges.
Little Art Gallery A special
exhibit of new original prints by Duke
University instructor in print-making,
Stephen W illis White. The gallery is also
displaying a number of handcrafted wall
hangings. Located in North Hills Mall,
Raleigh, the show will continue through
September.
