Liability clauses delay loft decision
A final decision on the loft policy has
been delayed because of "questions of
practical implications and legal
liability " James O. Cansler, associate
dean of student affairs, said Thursday.
A loft policy was approved Oct. 7 by
the housing department loft committee.
James D. Condie, director of housing,
and Russell Perry, assistant director of
housing, were on the committee.

will come to Chapel Hill this weekend to
participate in a speech tournament
sponsored by the UNC Individual Events
The tournament, to be held in Greenlaw
and Bingham halls, will begin at 9:30 a.m.
Saturday and last the entire day. The
tournament will resume at 9 a.m. Sunday,
with the final round slated for early
afternoon. An awards presentation will be
held at 4 p.m. Sunday in 101 Greenlaw.
The events are open to the public, and
information on competition locations will be
posted in the foyers of both Greenlaw and
