Markham said the questionnaires should be

courses offered in spring
relations since 1945.
Topics in the course, Ryan says, will deal
with the technical and social problems of
living in an overpopulated world under the
constant threat of nuclear war. Included will
be discussions of Freudianism, Marxism,
totalitarianism and existentialism as
exemplified by Kierkegaard and Nietzsche.
Other topics will be the counterculture of
the 1960s, the impact of Oriental thought on
the Western world, modern attitudes
towards writing history, literary journalism
Cube space
he said.
Markham said the committee was formed
after several groups voiced concern that
allocation of space was too haphazard. But
he said he was not convinced this concern
was widespread. "Hopefully, these surveys
will let us know," he said.
The questionnaire may be returned to
Markham via campus mail or U.S. mail at
1212 Granville West. In addition, the
organization representatives may drop the
surveys in a box located outside of the office
door of the Daily Tar Heel in the Carolina
Union.
Continued from page 1,
Sunday improved the chances of the fee
referendum's passage. The decision struck
down a 1976 law specifying that a
referendum must be approved by a vote of a
two-thirds majority of at least 20 percent of
the student body. Under the old law, a
student could vote against the fee hike
simply by staying home.
Another presidential veto. The council
has yet to vote to sustain or override
President Moss' veto of two censures passed
against CGC members in early October.

Station's permit
may be revoked
The Station, a popular local restaurant,
will be forced to close down tonight if the
Carrboro Board of Aldermen votes to
revoke its land use permit.
At its regular bimonthly meeting
tonight, the board will hold a revocation
hearing on a condition-use permit granted
to the owners of the Station, Mike
Macomson of Hickory and Jim Stewart of
Carrboro. With ' the conditional-use
permits, the aldermen gave Macomson and
Stewart a list of required improvements to
the property, including paving a parking
lot, installing outside lights and
landscaping the grounds.
Most of those improvements have been
made, according to the owners. Macomson
and Stewart may ask the board for an
extension on the deadline of the
conditional permits. The board has twice
approved two similar requests.
