Weekend bartenders 24-hour punch:
you wont feel it 'til you try to stand
weekend
bartender
All of us can remember back to the time
when we didn't indulge in the consumption
of alcoholic beverages. Of course, for some it
will be harder to remember than for others!
For some, the first taste ol alcohol was a rude
awakening a Dixie cup of rum & Coke
(with 5os. rum and 1 o.Coke!); for others,
a bottle of Boone's Farm.
My first real taste of alcoholic beverages
came right about this time of the year in
1972. I was just a sophomore when a friend,
whom I shall remember forever, offered me a
glass of 24 Hour Punch. It was so good, I
never suspected that it was "spiked" until I
stood to depart. Needless to say, there was
somewhat of a sway in my steps but I felt no
pain.
With Thanksgiving just around the
corner, I feel certain many of you could put
this delicious beverage to use with all the
entertaining you will soon be doing. Your
guests will never forget you!

Drink of the Week: 24-Hour Punch
Ingredients for 24-1 lour Punch: a dozen
lemons, a fifth of bourbon, a cup of sugar,
one pint of club soda, one quart ginger ale.
Squeeze the lemons and pour the juice
over sugar in a gallon container. Add a lew
of the rinds. Add bourbon and allow to stand
in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Remove the
rinds alter a couple of hours since they
change the taste ol the punch if left in for the
whole period. When ready simply add soda
and ginger ale. May be served in a punch
bowl with a large block of ice inthecenter.
