Fee breakdown planned
for inclusion in fall bills
EatuuipiLos Calsinidlai?
Public service announcements must be fumed in at the box outside the DTH offices in tne Carolina Union
by 1 p.m. if they are to run the next day. Each item will be run at least twice.
If you ever wondered exactly what
your student fees were used for, you won't
have to wonder anymore.
A breakdown of student fees will be
inserted with student bills this fall. The
breakdown will show a schedule of fees
for undergraduates and graduate
students.
Wayne R. Jones, associate vice
chancellor of finance, said last week that
Student Government requested the
administration to include the breakdown
of fees with the student bills.
"We felt it was a reasonable request
and something that should be done,"
Jones said. "We have received an
increasing number of requests for this
information recently, and we felt it
hnu1d be provided to everyone."
Jeff Koeze, chairman of the Student
Government Educational Policy
Committee, said, "We (Student
Government) wanted the breakdown
because we thought students should
know where their money was going and
what fees were increasing.
"1 don't think students arc aware of fee
increases and they don't note w hat fees
are increasing," Koeze said.
