cartoons at 8 tonight in Memorial Hall.
Blanc has also entertained millions as
the. voice of Yosemite Sam, Foghorn
Leghorn, Speedy Gonzales, Barney Rub
ble, Sylvester the Cat, Pepe LePew and.
the jack-hammer laugh of Woody Wood
pecker. Blanc began his career in 1927 on radio
and later appeared with Jack Benny,
Abbott & Costello and Burns & Allen.
He made double-gold recordings for
Capitol Records of "I Tawt I Taw A
Puddy Tat" and "The Woody Woodpecker
Song."-
He presently heads the Blanc Com
munications Corporation and is still
popular among student audiences;
Blanc is heard by an estimated 100
million people around the world each
day through the cartoon characters he
brings to life with his voice.
