When last we saw the Maryland Terrapins, Coleman went on a tear, scoring 20 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, and just generally outplaying the entire UNC front line. ' "Coleman hurt us a great deal in Chapel Hill," Smith said. "We must do a better job on him." And that job isn't going to be any easier now, with the loss of sixth man Buzz Peterson for the year with torn ligaments, and Curtis Hunter still recuperating from a broken foot. North Carolina's much-heralded depth isn't so deep anymore. Center Brad Daugherty, who could pick up only three rebounds against Villanova, will have to be more effective down under, and reserve center Warren Martin has to be more of a force on the boards. But North Carolina still has AJl-American Michael Jordan, who cruised in with 20 points and seven rebounds in Sunday's game, and Perkins who is second in the conference in re bounding with a 9.2 average. And Braddock is playing the most poised, most confident basket ball ofjjhis career. So Quick, you're the Maryland basketball team, and you're ready to play. . Your-hope. h-:AP Top; 20- f 1. "We'll probably bring Curtis along slow ly, depending on how he reacts to practice," said Dr. Joseph DeWalt. "I would not ima gine he would be able to take part in a com plete practice for a while." Hunter, a 6-foot4 swingman from Dur ham, fractured the fifth metatarsel in his left foot in North Carolina's 101-95 victory over Virginia Jan. 15. His return is especially timely because UNC lost Buzz Peterson, their sixth man, for the season when Peter son injured his knee in North Carolina's win over Virginia last Thursday. A rookie and a veteran led North Carolina with a pin each as the UNC wrest ling team defeated Virginia Monday night 27-10 in an ACC matchup in Carrnichael Auditorium.
