Donald Rumsfeld, is expected to resign
after one more trip to the region, partly
out of frustration that American policy
in Lebanon hasn't worked, informed
U.S. officials said Tuesday.
The post is likely to go to State
Department consultant Laurence
Silberman, the former ambassador to
Yugoslavia who will accompany
Rumsfeld on his next trip to the region,
said a senior official, who insisted on
anonymity.
