Last May, the DTD house was condemned and boarded up. But at the beginning of this semester, national DTD members Greg Kazarian and Ken File again accepted pledges. Davis said the group finished its first pledge class Oct. 31. "However, we will start pledging again almost imme diately. We do plan to have formal rush with the other houses in February," he said. DTD is trying to work out an agreement with the national organiza tion of Pi Lambda Phi for their boarded-up house and is talking with University officials about using the Zeta Tau Alpha house. Derks said the fraternity still has its 1972 charter. If they had lost the charter, he 5.tiH "we would have had a much College harder time, and it would have taken a lot longer time to get one." "We want to balance the four aspects of what a fraternity should be," Derks said. "Whenever you get 40 or 50 guys together, they can get a lot done. We want to contribute to the University as well as to the community. We also want to help each other academically as well as have fun. All of these things are important and help to make a great frat." New member David Wyatt, a sopho more from Goldsboro, said DTD was more service-oriented than other frater nities. "We have different ideas than the other houses," Wyatt said. "The main thing is, we will have more service projects for the Chapel Hill community, while the other frats are more social." The DTDs recently dressed up in costumes and visited the Children's Ward at N.C. Memorial Hospital to distribute balloons. Students interested in joining DTD should call Chip Martin, rush chairman. from page 1 of five members each. Four of the five played, while one member acted as an alternate. Now that the intramural College Bowl team champion has been established, an all-star team will be chosen to compete in the regional, super-regional and national College Bowl championships to be held next semester beween universities across the country, Weller said. "The good thing about College Bowl is that it is a chance for graduate and undergraduate students to do some thing together, which is rare," she said. "In the spring we'd like to challenge the faculty to some matches." But none of them slow-roast their malt like we do. So no Japanese beer has the color, the character, the rich, incredibly smooth taste ofKillian'sRedAle. So the next time you're about to order your favorite Japanese beer, try a Killian's Red, instead. You just may lose your yen for anything less. KILllAN'S RED 1. ' -.u; -SGL' fetes It?
