Schedule RESTAURANT GUIDE CELLAR DOOR PRESENTS Stuff to do if your world doesn't totally revolve around football So it's Parents' Weekend and Homecoming all rolled into one. How will you keep the parental units occupiedallweekend?The UNC campus, as always, is prepared to handle the influx of family and friends. Many organizations on campus are sponsor ing events, and they're all worthwhile. Friday It's Friday, you're in love. At 4 p.m., the University is spon soring a welcome ceremony for parents and family checking in for the big week end. Several University big wigs will attend. You'll also hear a couple of num bers from the BSM Gospel Choir. Fol lowing is a reception, which gives your parents a chance to meet faculty, staff and students in leadership positions. (Parents: Now's the time to ask why little Throckmore is not gettingall A's). Representatives from departments like General College and Career Placement will be on hand. The reception will also give the folks a chance to learn more about UNC, our southern part of heaven. Got little brothers and sisters? Take the whole family to Morehead Planetarium for star shows, "Sky Rambles" or "The Legacy." ALLEN BADDOUR Or if they'd have trouble sitting still that long, take the family to Franklin Street Carolina Athletic Association has a full night of fun planned for a blocked off Franklin Street. Of course they got permisison.) At 6 p.m. there's a parade, followed by a pep rally in front of Wachovia. After the rally (where everyone gets pumped up to actually go to the game on time and cheer really loudly for our Heels) the CAA is spon soring the Franklin Street Extravaganza. The traffice barriers will stay up until 10:30 p.m. and a plethora of games, rides, and food will keep the whole family entertained. These booths are all sponsored by different groups on campus, and they would love your sup port. What about JFK at the Union? Tickets are only a buck and a half and you can buy two with your student ID. Saturday At 10a.m. and 1 1 a.m., the Chapel Hill Preservation Society sponsors Trol ley Tours, which will be historical tours of campus and the town. Meet in front of Morehead Planetarium to learn why the Bell Tower is where it is, among other things. Take the little ones to Morehead Planetarium for "The Travels of Terry Trasher." Go to the football game , cheer loudly, have fun, watch us win. After the game, check out the barbecue hosted by Chancellor Hardin. They're expecting at least 1 ,500 people, so if you don't have tickets, go by the Dean of Students Office. They're $5 a piece. Live entertainment will be pro vided by younger siblings running around playing football and by the UNC Jazz Ensemble. Keep those ticket stubs; door prizes and other giveaways may make you rich. Sunday Everything winds down, time for hugs and kisses. From 9 a.m. to 1 2 p.m., the Black Parents Alliance will meet in the Black Cultural Center in the union to discuss the BCC, the BAC and other relevant topics. Before the meeting, there's an early morning worship service includ ing the BSM Gospel Choir. Sunday, a day of rest A day to ask for money.
