to 45 cents per bushel in the
price of feed grain. The price
cut will be determined according
to the type of livestock owned.
Mr. Barnes said the ASCS com
mittee is in the process of ar
ranging for a grain handler,
some commercial feed dealer,
who could handle Uie grain ship
ments to be sent the county un
der the relief program.
Another part of the program
will release for grazing some
lands now in the soil bank. Mr.
Barnes said details of the graz
ing land allocations have not yet
been received from federal of
ficials.
The farm agent added that

Robert A. Lassiter has been
appointed executive director of
the Easter Seal organization since
March and came to the Society
as assistant director in Novem
ber, 1961. While assistant direc
tor, he assisted in the establish
ment of a Sheltered Workshop
program in Asheville, Jobs for
the Handicapped, and Easter
Seal training center for the se
verely handicapped.
A native of Tennessee, Mr. Las
siter served for nine years as a
supervisor with the Vocational
Rehabilitation Division of the
Florida State Department of Edu
cation, before joining the staff of
the North Carolina Society. He
has extensive experience as a
volunteer in the health field,
having served as an officer and
board member for the Tubercu
losis Association, the Mentally
Retarded Association, the Visit
ing Nurses Association and the
Cerebral Palsy Association. He
also served as a member of the
State Board of Directors of the
Florida Society for Crippled Chil
dren and Adults.
