The conference was sponsored by the Council oh Rheumatic Fever and Congenital Heart Dis ease and the Council on Commun ity Service of th American Heart Association and the Heart Dis ease Control Program, Division of Health Services of the United States Public Health Service. Mrs. Merzbaeher died unexpect edly this morning. She had been a resident of Chapel Hill since 1956, when she and hpr husband retired here. Mrs. Merzbaeher was a native of Munich, Ger many. and lived there for a num ber of years. She and her hus band also lived in Turkey and in Newark, N. J„ prior to coming to ChsiSel Hill. She is survived by her husband, Siegfried Merzbaeher; one son, Dr. Eugen Merzbaeher, professor of physics at the University; one oaughter, Mrs. Dorothea Brander, of Edinburgh. Scotland; and sev en grandchildren. Burial services will be held at graveside in the Chapel Hill Me morial Cemetery. Bobby Ray Dies In Charlottesville Bobby Bowden Ray, 35, of Char lottesville, Va., and formerly es Carrboro, died yesterday morn ing in Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville. He had been in declining health for the past two years. He served in the Korean War and received his B.A. degree from the Uni versity here. He was assistant au ditor of the State Farm Mutual In surance Co. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dana Phipps Ray; one son, Bob by B. Ray II of the home; his mother, Mrs. Mallie Bowden Ray of Carrboro; one sister, Mrs. R. J. Shields at Atlanta; and one brother, G. H. Ray of Montgom ery, Ala. The funeral, arrangements for which have not been announced, will be held here.
