Jim Beatty Moves To Durham Jimmy Beatty, one of the world's greatest distance runners, is returning to North Carolina irom California, where he has been living since 1959. Mr. Beatty will live in Durham. He has not disclosed his plans yet, but it is reported that he will be associated with the State. Gov ernor Terry Sanford is expect ed to announce his position with in a day or so. He and Mrs. Beatty are at pres ent looking for a home to rent in Durham. Their furniture, he said, is en route to Durham from I .os Angeles. They will settle down when furniture arrives and a home is found. He has resigned his position with Allstate Insur ance in Pasadena, California. Mr. Beatty was here yesterday to attend the funeral of the late Coach Dale Ranson, from whose hands Beatty moved to Hungar ian track coach Mihaly Igloi at the Santa Clara Youth Village near San Francisco. In 1961 Mr. Igloi established the Los Angeles Track Club.
