within the Fair Grounds and to

Guardia and Idlewild Airports,

transportation between these air

than just the regular admission—

for those coming in from Boston
or Washington, these World’s
Fair tickets will also be sold on
board Eastern’s no-reservations,
every-hour - on - the - hour “Air
Shuttle” flights, with which the
“bus shuttles” will connect.
Eastern is also offering a va
riety of side trips from metro
politan New York to Florida,
Puerto Rico, New: England, Can
ada, Bermuda, the national cap
ital in Washington, and many
other spots, of scenic, historical
or vacation interest.
CHRISTMAS PAGEANT
A Christmas Pageant will be
given at 5 p.m. in the Little
Chapel, Chapel of the Cross, on
Christmas Eve. An Open House
will follow in the Parish House,

‘Christmas House’ Success
The Chapel Hill Junior Ser
vice League has reported results
’of its Christmas House project,
held December 9 and 10 for
needy families of the Chapel
Hill area. A. total of 150 families
shopped at Christmas House
with the coupons they received
by mail.
Mrs. Jarir Rogers, food chair
man, reported that each family
received its Christmas Day
menu of a canned ham, vege
tables, raisins, fruits, and a mis
cellaneous food item of
(heir choice. Also, each fami
ly received two table decora
tions, one hanging decoration,
and ornaments for a Christmas
tree, all of which were made by
Mrs. Charles Reap’s committee.

Mrs. Carl Randolph, toy co
chairman reported that she
bought 50 gun and holster sets,
50 footballs and basketballs, and
50 assorted sizes of toy trucks.

A Carrboro woman’s club dress
ed and contributed numerous
dolls for the 500 children receiv
ing toys from Christmas House.
Mrs. Samuel Hill reported she
purchased 100 pairs of blue
jeans, 100 flannel shirts, 94
dresses (sizes 2-12). ID wool
shifts, 10 wool skirt*; 11 slack
sets, 69 pairs of slacks for boys
2-6 years old, and 500 pairs of
socks. Each child received
either a new dress or a new
shirt and a pair of new socks.
Junior Service League members
made 18 sling-shot shifts. There
was also used clothing which
had been cleaned by local clean
ers free of charge.
Thirty children in foster
homes were included in the list
of children who received gifts.
All the left-over used toys were
given to the Roberson Street
Community Center.
Mrs. Robert Seymour has
announced that any late checks
can be sent to Box 374,. Chapel
Hill.
St. Thomas More
To Hold High Mass
Christmas High Mass will be
celebrated Tuesday midnight at
St. Thomas More Catholic
Church.
A specially trained choir, un
der the direction of Father James
Ashton Devereux, S. J., will ren
der the liturgical chant and the
traditional carols 15 minutes be
fore the Mass. The organist will
be Prof. Frederick Behrends.
Celebrant and preacher for the
occasion will be Father Francis
Murphy, pastor. The public is
invited.
Confessions on Christmas Eve
will be from 4 to 5 and 7 to 8
p.m.
Other Masses on Christmas
morning will be at 8 and 10:45
a.m., and 12 noon.
