The new debs are Misses Nancy Glover Barrett, Charlotte Winbome Shaffer, Elizabeth Har ris, Rosalie Ross, and Rebecca Tatum. Following an address to the debutantes by Dr. James Cleland, the debutantes joined in singing "Silent Night” with Miss Mere dith Lynn Carr, descant soloist. The debutantes will be enter tained throughout the holiday season with parties and lunch eons. A highlight will be a tea dance on Thursday night at the Candida Inn. Mr, Kirkpatrick was awarded a $750 scholarship for his story on the effect of the death of President John F. Kennedy on METHODIST PROGRAM The Sunday School of the Carr boro Methodist Church will pre sent its Christmas program to night at 7:30 in the church.
