Jackson-Corr Vows Are Exchanged
■ Miss Sarah Jane Jackson of
Chapel Hill and Christopher Jo
seph Corr of Phoenix, Arizona,
were married Saturday at noon
in St. Thomas More Chapel. The
Rev. Francis J. Murphy officiat
ed. Mrs. Paul Obrist of Chapel
Hill was the organist.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Robert Osborne Jackson of
Chapel Hill and the late Mr.
Jackson. She is a graduate of
Chapel Hill High School and
Chapel Hill Town Classes Busi
ness College. Until Nov. 30, she
was employed at Ted Bates and
Co., Inc. in New York City.
The bridegroom is the son of
Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Edward
Corr of Bronxville, N. Y. He is
a graduate of Bronxville High
School and the University here.
He is an account executive with
KTVK television station in Phoe
nix, Ariz.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her brottec, Richard
Owen Jackson of Chapel Hill.
She wore a wedding gown of
candlelight peaii de soie with a

wedding pearls of her aunt, Mrs.
R. Reid Jackson. Her bouquet
was a cascade of cream roses'
and orchids.
Maid of honor was Miss Jose
phine Anne Jackson, sister of
the bride, who wore a street
. length gown of pink velveteen
fashioned with a scoop neckline
and a bell-shaped skirt. Her
headpiece wa« a pink velveteen
rose with pkac veiling attached.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Rich
ard Jackson of Chapel Hill, sis
ter-in-law of the bride: Mrs.
Nancy Bozarth of Chapel Hill,
Mrs. Leonard Beck of St. Pauls,
and Miss Julianna Most of New
York City. Their gowns and
headpieces were of burgundy
velveteen. They carried bou
quets of pink roses.
Best man was Dr. Joseph Ed
ward Corr, father of the bride
groom. Ushers were Fitzhugh
Lee Corr of New Rochelle, N. Y„
brother of the bridegroom; Don
ald M. Roth rack of Roanoke,
Va.; Richard Bird of Winston-
Salem; and Bob McLean of
Brooxville, N. Y. They wore
formal morning dress.
For the wedding ceremony, the
bride’s mother wore a street
length dress of beige and gold
brocade with gold accessories.
Her corsage was of green baby
crchids.
Following the ceremony, a wed
ding reception was held in the
Hill Room at the Carolina Inn.
Mr. and Mrs. Corr will make
their home at 4445 North 36th
St. in Phoenix.

Hayes-Sayers Vows Are Exchanged
Nuptial vows were exchanged
Saturday afternoon in the Chapel
of the Cross by Miss Elizabeth
Hayes of Chapel Hill and William
Floyd Sayers Jr. of Gastonia.
The double-ring ceremony was
performed by the Rev. Thomas
R. Thrasher.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Hughes Hayes of Chapel
Hill and William Hayes of Hills
"boro. She is a graduate of the
University and a member of
Delta Delta Delta.
The bridegroom is the son of
Mrs. Floyd Sayers of Gastonia
and the late Mr. Sayers. He is a
graduate of the University and
a third-year medical student at
the School of Medicine here.
For the ceremony, the church
was decorated with white poin
se-ttias. Organ music was pre
sented t)y Jerroid Baab.
Given in marriage by her uncle,
Albprt W. Hughes, the bride wore
a gown of white satin with a
scalloped bodice appliqued with
Alencon lace. The three-quarter
sleeves were trimmed with lace
and a bow at the elbow. The mid
riff of the princess gown was
made of lace. Lace was appliqu
ed down the front of the skirt at
each side and encircled the chapel
train. The bride’s veil of illusion
was attached to a crown of seed
pearls and grange blossoms. She
carried a cascade bouquet of
roses and phalaenopsis.
Matron of honor was Mrs. Bob
by Caviness of Pittsburgh, Pa.,
who wore a sheath dress of em
erald green satin. The flared tun
ic over-skirt was accented at the
front waistline by a flat bow.
Her headpiece wds a matching
wedding ring circle with a circle
veil. She carried a cascade bou
quet of white carnations.
Bridesmaids were Miss Lyuda
Ward of Virginia Beach, Miss Har
riet ,Cox of Atlanta, and Miss
Tucker Walker of Norfolk, Va.
Their gowns were tike that of
the honor attendant.
Best man for ’ the bridegroom
was his brother, Donald Sayers
ADOPT DAUGHTER
Dr. and Mrs. Donald Johnson
announce the adoption of a
daughter, Katherine Donna, bom
Oct. 7. The Johnsons also have
a son, Chris.
TURKEY SHOOT
The Chapel Hill Jaycdes will
sponsor a turkey shoot at Jake's
Sunoco Station on the Durham
Boulevard this afternoon from 1
to 4.

Immediately following the cere
mony, a reception was held at
Graham Memorial by the bride’s
mother.
For a wedding trip to Williams
burg, Va., the bride wpre a cran
berry dresr with matching Chanel
jacket and black accessories. Her
corsage was of phalaenopsis lift
ed from her bridal bouquet.
Mr. and Mrs. Sayers will make
their home here at 109 Maxwell
Road.
