Orange County voters yester
day began registering for fee
January 14 Statewide referendum
on Legislative redistricting.
Their votes will help determ
ine the fate of an amendment to
the State Constitution which
would increase the Senate from
50 rhembef'S' to 70 and reduce
House membership from 120
members to 100. Passage of the
amendment in effect would give
the state’s smaller, rural coun
ties veto-power over all legisla
tion. r
Those required to register for
the referendum include persons
who are not already registered
in a County book or who have
changed their precinct since the
last general election without reg
istering in their new precinct.
Reregistration of persons al
ready signed up is not required.
