The meeting was well attended, and an enjoyable evening was spent, and much business transacted. On Wednesday, October 30th, a wiener roast will be given by the ladies at the residence of Mrs. Byron Luna, on Wilkinson boulevard. In the future the auxiliary meet ings will be at 7:45 instead of 8 p. m. The door prize was won by Mrs. Bostick, and several presents were given members by “their pals.” The November meeting of the Aux iliary will be at the home of Mrs. Robert White, 1512 High street, with Mrs. W. R. Cashwell co-hostess, at which time plans for Christmas will be made. Perkins CLBVEILiAND, Oct. 9.—Secretary of Labor Frances Perkins predicted Tuesday a minimum of industrial strife during production under the national defense program. "Most strikes called during the World war were based on demands for union recognition and the eight-hour day," the Labor Secretary said in a talk before the A. F. L. Brotherhoof of Bookbinders in convention here. "These issues aren’t major problems any more.” Miss Perkins estimated 6,000,000 jobs would be provided, directly or in directly, by the defense program in the coming year.
