Textile Owners SET UP FOUNDATION To Help Bring PROSPERITY AFTER WAR Backed by a fund of $500,000 to assure better trained men to operate the textile mills after the war, the North Carolina Textile Founda tion has been organized by a group of textile leaders. The Foundation plans to “aid and promote by financial assistance and otherwise all types of textile education and research at the North Carolina State College at Raleigh. Elected president at the organization meeting was W. J. Carter, of Greensboro, president of Carter Fabrics Corporation. Management of the corporation is vested in a board of directors, who are serving without compensation. It is a nonprofit organization, without capital stock. The foundation plans a well rounded training program to include marketing and business management, personnel management, enlargement of the designing depart ment, supplementing the teaching in carding, spinning, weaving, knitting, and finish ing, seamless hosiery, full-fashioned hosiery and other types of knitted goods, plus more extensive research into all phases of the textile industry. Besides President Carter, other officers elected were A. G. Myers, of Gastonia, vice president, and W. H. Durham, of Ruffin, treasurer. On the board of directors are: W. J. Carter, J.
