I. T. U. Asked To Come Back Into A. F. of L Fold NEWARK, N. J. — Newark Typo graphical Union No. 103 has spon sored a resolution setting in motion the legal procedure to initiate a mem bership referendum on the question of reaffiliation of the International Typographical Union with the Amer ican Federation of Labor. The resolution, which must be in dorsed by 150 local unions, declares that “the question of adjusting dif ferences between the ITU and AFL regarding observance of autonomous rights of the ITU have never been clearly presented for consideration by the membership, having been con fused with partisan consideration which should have no place in de ciding this issue.” KRDBEVS MUSK CO PATRIOTISM By Sir Walter Scott Breathes there a man with soul so dead, Who never to himself hath said, “This is my own, my native land!** Whose heart hath ne’er within him bunt'd As home his footsteps he hath turn’d From wandering on a foreign strand? If such there breathes, go, mark him well; For him no minstrel raptures swell; High though his titles, proud his name, Boundless his wealth as wish can claim; Despite those titles, power, and pelf, The wretch, concentred all in self, Living, shall forfeit fair renown, And, doubly dying, shall go down To the vile dust from whence he sprung, Unwept, unhonour’d, and unsung.
