Labor Leaders Are Concerned Over . Internat’l Politics —V— WASHINGTON. D. C.—Labor lead ers here are deeply concerned over critical political situations which have arisen in some of the liberated countries of Europe. The American Federation of Labor has repeatedly supported the policy that the people of these countries are entitled to* self-determination and the right to select the kind of Gov ernment they wish by democratic process. It was assumed that such rights would be guaranteed to these countries when peace came. However, recent uprising and man ifestations indicate that Great Bri tain and Soviet Russia are jumping the gun on the peace treaty and at tempting to influence the form of Government of the smaller nations of Europe before any plebiscite can be held.
