An intelligent farraer in the com munity eaid to us a few days a'o that there is a great need for farm ers to study their business more closely with uu eye to learning more about what other gocd and intelli gent farmers think and do. We were very much impressed with the truth of the remark, and we hope to bee i ho tunc soon come when the great mass of our farmers will wake up to the fact that there is uuioh to learn iu their profession. Ihe old way of doin things is pass ing away in other things, and farm ers must make themselves intelligent by constant application, both in study and experiment, if they would keep up with the world that depends upon them for sustenance. Those of the Democratic Dirty who are careless and negligent as to their political duties and their polit ical privileges have not yet realized the fact that the issue, in a great measure, has ceased to be one of partisan feeling , and that it has oecome a race question instead. And yet Kieh is the case. We hear leaders of the Republican party, especially the colored men, speak of race representation. Ah! that's it.
