V. Savage, pastor of the Tarboro Baptist church, preached in the Baptist church here last Friday night. He preached especially to young people. lie said that no one ever has become great by aecident. Some have become famous ac cidentally, but never great. The key to success is to do something do one thing and do that all the time. Striv ing for an end is the true idea of life. As in the secular eo in the religious life. Striving helps one reach the g al and develops him while he strives. The sermon was a strong one and was well received. Mr. Savage though young is a preacher ot power and has q-iite a bright feature. Some improvements. In the north end of town it is noticeable that Mess. A. S. Dunn, J. B.
