Time is about up for paying poll-tax in view of voting at any election this year. Let every one see to it that his poll tax is paid to-day, or he can not vote in the coming elections. Thomas, editor of the Louis burg Times, was elected presi dent for the ensuing year. Mr. Thomas has been a member of the Association, we believe, ever since the organization back in the seventies, and is worthy the high honor hie brethren of the press have placed upon him. Other prominent, worthy and progressive members of the Association were elected as follows: W. C. Dowd, Charlotte News; J. Z. Green, Marshville, Our Home; Rev. J. O. Atkinson, Christian Sun, vice-presidents. J. B. Sherrill, Concord Times, secretary and treasurer. J. F. Hurley, of Concord, his torian. J. M. Julian, Salisbury Post, annual orator. R. M. Phillips, New Bern Journal, poet. The reports sent out through the daily papers told the story of a splendid meeting of the editors, and of the magnificent hospitality extended them by the people of Charlotte. The editor of The Common wealth wished much to be with his brethren of the press, and intended to do so, but at the last had to give up the trip. The bride was gowned in a lovely white Mohair, then changed for a travel ing suit, hat and gloves to match. The ceremony was performed by Rev.
