M. Y. Self conduct ing the service. Jackson, who recently moved here from across the river died suddenly at his honw in East Scotland Neck last night at the age of about sixty-five years. He was sitting on the side of the bed when he was taken with an attack of the heart, and, before Dr. Smith could reach the house, keeled over and died. He leaves a wife and five children. Mr. H. C. Bell returned on the ten o'clock train this morning from Dunn where he had been called on the death of his father.
