G: THE WHOLE SOUTH WILL BENEFIT It now appears as if Henry Ford will secure by lease or pur chase the government's Muscle Shoals project which for so lonpr has been under discussion. We believe that the people of the country will welcome Mr. Ford's acquisition of this plant, for he is certainly the industrial genius of this age and time and j in reading something of his plans j for this project, he will developc j it into one of the greatest indus-! trial centres in the country. His ! example and development will j set an example to the entire j South and will have a tendency f to awaken it to its own great ! possibilities. The south abounds throughout with wonderful nat-! ural resources and only needs the hand of such a genius as j Henry Ford to start it on the ! road to the most stupendous j progress and development know I in the history of the world. Cer- tainly his coming will mean that f to that particular section and his J efforts there will be reflected! a 1 - throughout the balance of the Southland. It is said that Mr. Ford intends to make the Muscle " Shoals development the outstand ing achievment of his career and that it is not his purpoo that he or any of his heirs shall derive any monetary profit from the undertaking. That is certainly an altruistic and commendable at titude to assume and we believe that his efforts will be rewarded in attamging the development or the greatest industrial centre hi the countrv.
