The Branch Mint of the United States is located
at Charlotte, in Mecklenburg county in this State.

Kerosene Lamps afford as much light as 8 gas
burners ; 4 gallons of Kerosene Oil will supply 4
lamps one month, which, at $1,20 per gallon, is
$4,80 per month, , or a cost of one cent per hoar
per lamp; therefore, by burning gas, the expense is
only six hundred per centum -greater than to burn
Kerosene Oil, which, with Lamps, ean be had at
