Some four months since our excellent townsman,

bald. We saw bim'twe days since, and on the
place so bald four months since, a fine crop of hair
has sprung up with a rigorous growth. ' Sc con

going into an extensive manufacture el an article
which is destined te prove of anxious interest to

who have any doubts of its efficacy can have them
removed in a short time, by using the Virginia
Hair Restorer infallible, proving that it is all it is
claimed to be. '

A QUESTION FOR MATHEMATI
CIANS AND ECONOMISTS.
IF 1860 feet of gas is consumed through eight
burners, in 9 night3, at a cost of $5 per thou
sand feet, how much is consumed by each burner
per hour C. at what cost, and what would be the
cost of an equal amount of light obtained from
Kerosene Oil 1 Answer : There is consumed by
each burner, 25 feet per night, or 6 feet per hour,
at a cost of G cents per hour per burner. Four
Kerosene Lamps, aflord as much light aa 8 gaa
burners ; 4 gallons of Kerosene Oil will supply 4
lamps one month, which, at $1,20 per gallon, is
$4,80 per month, or a cost of one cent per hour
per lamp; therefore, by burning gas, the expense is
only six hundred per centum greater than to burn
