A Hloodj Fight. Yesterday, Harriet Wright, a dusty maiden of Brooklyn, went at Lydia Scott, with a razor, and before she quit work Lydia had a stylish looking gash across her face, another on the back of her hand and another on her arm. The parties were brought before a magistrate and their case was investigated. Harriet was required to give a bond of 100 for her appearance at the next term of the Criminal Court, and was then put under a $100 bond to keep the peace. Lydia suffered all this for bier, sweetheart. Doing the City. The, excursion train mentioned in yes terday's Sex as having arrived at the Carolina Central Depot, had on board 156 excursionis t s. Eaton, of the United States Post office Department, is in the city, looking to the proper establishment of the "Star J mail service" in this section. What is known as the "Star service" is the horse back and stage routes through the coun try. We have reason to believe that Gen. Eaton's efforts in this direction will result successfully and our country friends will be benefited correspondingly. The clerks in the postoffice since the late changes in the arrival of the mails have to do twice as much worK as formerly. Col. Brink will not work them to death, no to speak, but in his efforts to accommo date our citizens with an early delivery of the mails, he keeps them stirring around pretty lively. Our business men are not very much pleased with the late changes and would prefer the old schedule, two to one to. the present one. In the City. Our young people were glad to welcome the return of Messrs H. R. "Lattimer and DeL. Evans, yesterday, who have been spending the. Summer abroad. Right Reverend Bishop P. T. The negro was required 'to give an account of himself, and denied stoutly having attempt ed to enter the house by foal means. It is said his name is Abraham Betts.
