mines, near Centralia, where they had been
engaged repairing' the works, were fired up
on by a party of" Molly Magulres, secreted
hV the woods, and George W. Davis, John 1'.
(Webster, ''and.- Alfred llurge were badly
wounded; Davis, it is supposed, fatally.
Th men had been at work contrary to the
orders of the Molly Maguires. The assassins
are still at large. 1
