TAis column of the Post is a4 iA service of Republicans, who desire to express their views upon topics of interestsor which the - control will in no wise hold itself responsible. Editor of Post: I Sin.. I see by your last Sunday's issue that our old friend Gen. Allen Butherford is in your city. Can he not spare the time to call up at our little city and give us one of those fine ape eches. There is no one we would rather hear than him, and wo know he can give us a description of the K. K. Democratic Legislature, its doings, &c Abbottsburg is small, but loud tor Gen Butherford tor Congress. Ho is the poor man's candidate, and never fails to trest every one as if they were as good as him self. No matter what a man's color is he treats him kindly and gentlemanly. Mr. Editor, this has not just commenced with him since he has been a candidate for Congress (like some we have beard ox), but we have known him for seven years and he has always been the same to the poor man. It is said here, in this county, by a few, that they must have a man who can poll tome of the democratic vote. Now, Mr. Editor, old Bladen, as all the rest of the Republicans in this district say, give them a man that can draw out the Republican vote; they can't trust a man who depends on demo crats for ; their, suffrage, and whenerer yon hear a : man say Wean pell a ; large K. K. vhttl let him takc a backseat . TheReoutK f licans of this district can't trust bin. Send him up to see his many friends, -and we will give him it feeeption that he will be proud of.
