Further particulars than those pub isheoj in the Cape Fear Tuesday morn ing arc obtained from the Raleigh Stn- uiel: . -Monday night as the mail train from Goldsboro to Xewbern was about seven miles east of Kinston it collided with an extra engine which had gone up to Dover for woocl and ran beyond Dover wim ine intent lpn ot carrying a man up two miles west of the station. Both engines appear badly damaged. Engi neer leigh, on the mail tram, jumped irom nis engine ana in falling received such infernal injuries that he died in two lions and a half. The fireman on the extra engine also iuniped from his engine, but escaped with slight injuries. The brilliant victory in Duplin is unexampled in Eastern Carolina. ' A majority of . nearly one thousand is worthy of all praise, and adds new lustre to old Duplin.
