The important work at New Inlet,
which has been suspended recently, will
be resumed next week. The tusrRoval
Arch, it is learned, will take in tow fur
the works at New Inlet, on Mootiay

be steadily pressed thereafter.

Blackville was laid in ashes this morn
ing. The tire, which is supposed "to
have been the work of aii incendiaiy,
started in a small ' store on Railroad
Avenue at about 4 o'clock this morning,
just as the up Augusta night express

store and the Palmetto Hotel: The
fire then extended over the railroad de

time a train of cars, most of them load

trous fire early this morning. The fire
broke out. at half-past three o'clock, and
