Harris, Solici tor of the, fJl judicial district was taken up, The resolution raises a committee of 7 to investigate the charges of mal feasance and corruption in office made against Solicitor Harris and report the facts in order, if they be true, that steps may be taken for his impeach ment. The resolution was adopted. The Senate bill for the relief ot sher iffs and tax collectors was taken up as the. special order of the hour. The bill provides that all who have been sheriffs and tax collectors in the years 1872, '73, '74 and '75 may collect arrears of taxes for the years aforesaid under the restrictions imposed by law. Tlie bill was further amended so as to prevent sheriffs from collecting in solvent taxes .already accredited to them, but empowering the county com missioners to provide for their collec tion.
