Hughes' early plurality of 22,634 in New Jer sey with 777 districts missing was re duced to 9,196 with the returns from 315 of these districts. The President's total with the 462 missing districts is 184,660; Hughes, 193,856. Wilson Leads in Minnesota. St. Paul, Minn., Nov. 8 Seven hun dred and twenty-four precincts out of 3,024 for President in Minnesota gave Wilson 73,445; Hughes, 63,058. Hughes Ahead So Far in California. San Francisco, Cal., Nov. 8. Three thousand and ninety-one precincts of 5,917 in- California give Hughes 246 1C2; Wilson, 237,586. office this morning to make arrange ments for having the paper sent to his new address. Mr. Wade is to be affiliated with the Belk Brothers store, of Monroe, and should have reported earlier, however he was permitted to remain over in Wilmington for the election. Mrs. Wade has been living in Monroe for the past seven years with her mother, Mrs. V. C. Whitfield, who is an in valid. The regrettable feature is that Mr. Wade was slightly injured this morn ing when in crossing Princess street, at the intersection of Second, he col lided with a colored boy riding a bi cycle and his left arm was painfully sprained. The impact was not suffi cient to knock him to the ground, but it bruised his arm and necessitated medical attention. AGED FARMER DEAD. Mr. Simon Lewis, of. Currie, Suc cumbs' to Stroke of l-aravysio. News was recoived in ihe city this mcrning of the death of Mr. Simon Lewis, 87 years of age, a farmer of the Currie section, which occured at his home this morning at 1 o'clock. Mr. Lewis suffered a stroke of pa ralysis last Saturday, two weeks ago and while he at first rallied and hope was entertained for his recovery, his advanced years worked against him and little hope had been held out. for his recovery since Saturday morn-j ing when he began slowly sinking, i L.
