Fifty thousand brothers of the Canadians "who saved the day at Ypres," are here today, get ting ready to carry on the share of the burden the Dominion has shoul dered. This is the time of year when own ers of apartment houses sit in front, f a hie- ornate fireplace, ask the but-; ler to hand them the phone and call up the janitors to tell them to put out all the fires in the furnaces for it is May, and if it isn't warm it ought to be. In 1914 and 1915 the complaint among the British officers was that while the Canadians "fought like the devil" they were not well-disciplined and weer apt to run wild. Today the same old dash and fearlessness is there, but the Canadians are doing something even more useful for the Allied cause. They are making rec ords as the best-disciplined, best trained units of the British army.
