clear their yards of construction un

take on new work only with Goethals'

al Goethals, "by addition or overume,
when necessary; by additional labor
shifts and elimination of unessential
refinements of construction and equip

cured. The yards will remain unaer
their present management.
"For construction of new ships the
government will pay approved ma

Kansas City, Mo., July 14. Police
and militiamen tonight raided newly

here and confiscated a small arsenal!
of revolvers and rifles. More jthan
500 ..rounds of ammunition also were
seized. - A score of Industrialists were
taken into custody and are being held
pending an investigation. Some of
them showed a desire to become ugly,
but rough handling subdued them.
The police believe tha; they have
nipped in the bud a conference or
plot of the agitators. Among tnose
arrested were T. W. W.'s who claimed
Australia, Seattle, San Francisco, St.
Louis and Eastern cities as their
"headquarters."
A large amount of I. W. W. litera
ture and correspondence was seized.
The discovery of the new headquar
ters came as a surprise to the Fed
eral officials, who believed that I. W.
W. activity had been effectually
vstamped out in Kansas City.

traced opium from Buffalo to Cleve
land, Federal detectives today raided
a Chinese store here and seized gum
opium valued at $6,000. Six Chinese
were arrested. Much of the opium
was shipped here from Buffalo in bed
