Much has been said of late concerning a town park and the location of the Confederate Mon ument. We think a nice and pretty park would be a great ad dition to our already pretty little town, but for Heaven's sake dou't have, it behind the jail any where Out in sncn close proxim ity to the county coop and its towl. We commend the idea of a pub lic park to our thinking and pro gressive citizens, and will work for its erection. As to the location of the mon ument to our Confederate De.ul, we hope it will not be erected behind the town, where none except a few can see it, but those peeping through the windows of the jail. AVe iearn that Mr. A. S. Roscoe has kindly and gener ously offered to donate the site where Leighs' barber shop now stands as the. place lor its erec tion No prettier and more suit able site in town cau be seleeted.
