Works of Martin County, and Martin Enterprises are join ing forces to sponsor a job fair and career expo. The expo titled “Get The Life You Love” will be presented from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, March 9 at the Sen. Bob Martin Eastern Agricultural Center in Williamston. Last year, more than 50 businesses and industry representa tives were on hand to discuss job opportuni ties with attendees. The purpose of the event is to connect job seekers of all types- current and prospec tive college students, career changers, veterans, the unem ployed and the under employed- to local and regional employers. MCC staff and fac ulty, as well as N.C. Works personnel will be on hand to assist job seekers in devel oping the skills he or she will need for a par ticular career. The event will allow attendees to network with recruiters and gain valuable job-seek ing experience and confidence. It will also connect attendees to faculty advisors of MCC’s academic pro grams who will help students gauge the training needed for the jobs they are seek ing. N.C. Works advi sors will be on hand to connect job seekers to job training assistance such as resume build ing and tuition assis tance. Job seekers may want to prepare for this event by attend ing one or more of MCC’s ongoing Human Resource Develop ment (HRD) classes. These classes are free and are available in both Williamston and Windsor to provide individualized assis tance in developing a resume, job applica tion completion and interview skills. In Martin County, the Employability/CRC Lab located on the MCC campus in Wil liamston, is open from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Mon day through Thursday, and on the Bertie cam pus in Windsor from 8 a.m. until 12 noon on Wednesdays. Training in job searching and resume writing are available at the Mar tin County N.C. Works Center in Williamston from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and at the Bertie County Works Center from 9 a.m. un til 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
