A8 I SEPTEMBER 27,2017 News BACA teaches students personal finance NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Bethel Assembly Christian Academy now offers Ramsey Solutions’ Founda tions in Personal Finance, the premier curriculum for teaching financial literacy to students. “We are excited about starting the program m our school,” said Sharon Jernigan, Principal of Bethel Assembly Christian Academy. “We have partnered with our local State Employees Credit Union who is providing the instructor.” Personal finance expert Dave Ramsey created Foundations in Personal Finance, an easy to use, turn-key high school curriculum that teaches stu dents the value of saving, spending and giving to guide them down the path of financial literacy. More than three million students have completed a Foundations in Personal Finance class across the United States. Foundations in Personal Finance is a turnkey curriculum that meets standards and benchmarks in all fifty states and Jump$tart national standards. Windsor, NC 271^ 252-794-^fc WINDSOR - As part of an ongoing partner ship between the North Carolina Biotechnology Center (NCBC) and Ber tie Early College High School, Mark Phillips, Vice President, State wide Operations for NCBC, traveled to Ber tie Early College High School on Aug. 23 to deliver an equipment donation to Bruce Boiler, the biotechnol- ; ogy teacher at the early college. The equipment in cluded three P-1000 mi- cropipetters, a storage rack for the micropi- petters and 30 boxes of disposable tips for these instruments. These items will be used by Boiler’s stu dents to continue the operations carried out in the school’s biotech nology lab. The students are continuing their work to establish a biotech nology company. Boiler plans to con tinue to use this rela tionship to engage with many contacts within the biotechnology in dustry community. The aim will be to schedule videoconfer ences with industry leaders and profession als from local indus tries as well as those across the state via the Internet.
