BERTIE LEDGER-ADVANCE OCTOBER 18,20171 B3 The fabric of Bertie County since 1832 Faith Transitions! What are they? Well, according to the Google search, “transition” is defined as “the process of moving from one state or condition to an other.” One might say, “1 transitioned from the elementary school to the middle school.” Or, it could be said, “1 tran sitioned from being a single-parent Mom to being married.” We all understand transitions. We have all been through them. Sometimes they and know that I am God/' - PSALM 46:10 can be re- warding. "Be still Some times they can be rough. S o m e - times we welcome them. S o m e - times we dread them. Right now. I’m in the middle of one of those rewarding transitions. I’m a Pastor! And 1 love being a Pastor. 1 feel like the opening DR. WALLACE PHILLIPS words of Jeremi ah, Chap ter 1 are truly ap plicable to me: Verse 5 says, “Before 1 formed you in the womb, 1 knew you; before you were born 1 set you apart; 1 appointed you as a prophet to the na tions.” 1 truly believe that God divinely called me into the ministry. More specifically. He called me to be a Pastor. And in the last sev eral months. He has opened doors for me to pastor Pastors. 1 had been doing so for some time and then, 1 was selected by our N.C. Superintendent of our denomination to serve as an Execu tive Presbyter. It’s not something 1 aspired to be, but 1 can truly say that God is teaching me so much, every day that passes. It’s a transition. It’s a new place. It’s a pro cess of moving from one state or condition to another. I’m no less the Pastor of my local church. In fact, it has helped me to become an even better pastor locally. God has been so good to me. I trusted Him before the transi tion. 1 trust Him in the transition. He is faith ful to give us all that we need. Are you in one? If you are, place your faith and trust in Him who called you to do what He called you to do. He is faithful!
