The statewide event

Each April and Sep

Volunteers from local

state clean.
According to Bertie
County Nuisance and
Abatement Officer Bar
ry Anderson, the coun
ty plans to participate
in this year’s event, and
is looking for volun

cleanup.
“The county is plan

DOT for this project.
Currently the grass is
so high on the sides of
many roads it is a safe
ty issue. I hope to find
some roads that have
been mowed or where
the grass isn’t so high,”
said Anderson.
