Terra Ceia Christian
School graduate, Tay
lor Tucker, is the first
to graduate high school
with an Associates De

Technology from Mar

(MCC).
Tucker took classes
through Career and
College Promise, a dual
enrollment program
that allows high school
students to take free
classes at a community
college.
According to MCC’s
Criminal Justice in
structor, Donald Dixon,
“Taylor Tucker has
worked extremely hard.
This past semester, she
loaded herself with
classes to the point
that everyone advised
her against attempting
it - and she killed it.
Tucker has a 4.0 gpa
in her criminal justice
classes and will leave
MCC with better than a
3.66 gpa.
She has been accept
ed by all four of the
schools that she has
applied to.
She is a true inspi
ration to everyone in
MCC’s Criminal Justice
program.”
Tucker is planning to
transfer her MCC cred
its to a four-year degree
program in Criminal
Justice and eventually,
earn her master’s de
gree.
She plans to pursue
a career as an attor
ney in both. Criminal
and Agricultural Law in
Northeastern NC. She
has even expressed an
interest in politics.
Tucker’s mother,
Christy, stated, “When
Taylor was 14 years

to introduce Congress
man G.K. Butterfield at
a Town Hall Forum in
Bertie County. 1 could
hardly believe how
poised and profession

ing her remarks. Even
Congressman Butter
field commented on
how good she was and
encouraged her to con

- but as a Senator, not a

Young Tucker has re
lied heavily on her faith
to guide her through
this challenging jour
ney.
She cites Joshua 1:9,
as a particularly inspir
ing Bible verse that
has helped to keep her
on her path: “Have 1
not commanded you?
Be strong and coura
geous. Do not be fright
ened, and do not be
dismayed, for the Lord
your God is with you
wherever you go.”
Instructor Dixon
states, “1 have no doubt
that Ms. Tucker will go
on to become the attor
ney she has her sights
set on. She is a deter
mined young woman.
1 consider myself for
tunate to have worked
with such a talented
student.
1 can’t wait to see
what she builds on
top of her training at
MCC.”
