Tuesday afternoon, the Bertie County Board of Education approved a recommendation from Superintendent of Schools Dr. Otis Small wood to open school with remote-only learn ing for the first nine weeks of school. The school district will make provisions for face-to-face learning for certain groups, includ ing those with an Indi vidualized Education Plan GEP). students enrolled in certain ca reer courses with Mar tin Community College which require labs and select seniors who need to ensure they have credits for graduation. THADD WHITE Bertie Ledger-Advance WINDSOR-Bertie Coun ty’s cases of COVlD-19 have risen significantly over the last week. In the past seven days, Bertie County has added 24 new COVID-19 cases just when it seemed the cases were starting to disappear. On Tuesday of last week, Bertie County had 157 total cases, only three of which were active. Windsor Police Chief Justin Jackson said offi cers obtained a warrant for a residence at 501 Ghent Street, and found multiple items once in side the house. Chief Jackson said of ficers entered the home from the front and back and announced their presence and the pos session of the search warrant. Arriv ing in the mythical “Land of Regur,” they learn about their place in the overall story of African-American history. WINDSOR - Bertie County Rural Health Association (BCHRA), a feder ally supported primary care practice serving Bertie County for 36 years, announced the grand opening of a full service pharmacy for patients and residents on Monday. The launch of the pharmacy is part of BCHRA’s strategic plan to provide cost savings to patients and greater access to all members of the com munity. A crowd attended the grand open ing despite the July heat. County commissioners, town commission ers, representative for Senator Thom Tillis’s office and many others made the event in person.
