The Rev. S. K. Crockett, super
intendent of he Maxwell Farm
Home,, will, preach in the Franklin
Presbyterian church on F.aster Sun
day ill the 11 o'clock service. The
hoys of the home have been in
vited, by the members of the
Christian Endeavor society of the
church to attend .this service and
be entertaained in their homes
for the day. The regular Sunday
school services will be held at 10
o'clock under the direction of the
superintendent J. E. Lancaster.
Special music will feature these
services. The' public is cordially

There will be no preaching ser
vices inVthe Slaglc Memorial or
Morrison churches Sunday, or in
any of the Presbyterian churches
of this group the first Sunday in
April, ..due to the absence of the
pastor, the Rev. J. A. Flanagan,
who will be in attendance at' the
School of Religion, Vanderbuilt
University, Nashville, Tcnn. This
school is held each year for the
benefit of country pastors of all
denominations. The session this
year begins March 28 and closes
April 8. Mr. .Flanagan has been
awarded a scholarship this year to
the school.

church, bringing the union services
of the several churches, of the city
to a final climax. The theme an
nounced for this service is "The

Dies alt Age of 106
One of the oldest persons in the
nation,. Mrs. Charity Connor, of
Randolph county, died March 17,
at the age of 106 "., years, eight
months. " '
MRS. GEORGE HOUSTON
Mrs. George Houston was called
home March 15, 1932 at the home
of her daughter, Mrs.. Alex Keener
Mrs. Mary Trady Houston was
married to George Houston at the
age of 16. To this union were
born .10 children.. Mrs. Houston
was preceded .to Jier grave by her
husband and oldest daughter, Mrs.
Lida McCoy, and four infants.
Those surviving are : Mrs. Lou
Wood, Mrs. barah Brown, Hoyd
and Garfield 'Houston, Mrs. Mollie
Keener.
Mrs. Houston professed faith in
Christ at the age of 20 and joined
the Brush Creek Baptist church of
which she was a member when she
departed this life at the age of
72. . .

Sylvan Lake Wrecked
Sylvan Lake was one .of the
hardest hit communities in Rabun
county, The club house was blown
into the lake and 15 or 20 summer
cottages were ruined.
