Nevo Corral ' ' Edited by - JOHN W.-EDWARDS On Thursday evening, March 31, the Cullasaja Council, No. 158, met with a large crowd present. .The Rev. N. C. Duncan, rector of the Episcopal church, was taken into Cullasaa Council on a transfer card from Washington Council, No. 191, of Erwin, N. C. After the intro duction services, Rev. Mr. Duncan made a splendid talk. There arc many things which yet bring surprises and pleasure. One of the banner events for Cullasaja Council was the attendance of Thursday night, by Dr. S. H. Lyle, one of the charter members of the council. Dr. Lyle made a speech, sparkling with the thoughts of his well trained brain. It's a little early to start this talk; but did you brothers know that this month is the time for our district convention to be held at Hayesvlle on the third Thurs day, April 21. I didn't know that Carl Slagle could make a speech until Saturday afternoon in the courthouse. He being a town guy here of late, and making a talk as he did on farm ing, didn't sound real but I bet he 'could make a good talk at a ladies' missionary meeting,, or an old time quilting party. E. V. Ammons, from Millshoal Council No. 246, was present at the Cartoogechayc farm meeting in the courthouse Saturday. pid .you know that we have got to wake up and keep on our toes every day; or else this 5-10 Plan is going to W. D. BARNARD, PAGE FIVi" iclipse all other ognyiizations in the county, and push our activities upon the back page. You know that the women add the touch of beauty to all public meetings and the 5-10 is sure being organized; and their meetings have a variety, not:.tlie-sanie-.oldJuitn.-drumatau: meeting time after time. Here's hoping the 5-10 a wonderful suc cess! Brother George B. Patton is still a sick man after weeks of jllness. If you' don't take The Press and are a member of the Junior Order, you should be ashamed of your self. I know that this corner is not what it could be but look at the kindness of the two Mr. John sons, editors of The Press, when they are liberal enough to donate the space for this corner. Come on and show, them that you ap preciate this same generousness by subscribing." Special Training Valuable . Young po'bple are beginning to realize the value of special train ing. The depression has forced, millions out of. employment. A carefuj study of those out of work shows that a large majority are. common laborers or people not skilled in professional work. The purpose of The Athens Bus iness College is to prepare young people to sell their services. Book keepers, stenographers, and secre taries must be retained by all up-to-date business firms. No one need be afraid to undergo such a training for if he or she has the ability and will get the special training, the opportunity of success will be sure.
