SOCIAL ACTIVITIES and COMINGS AND GOINGS much success as is the wish of the whole community. Miss Alice Cunningham Weds Mr. J. K. Ray Jr. , In a setting of 'unusual beauty, the marriage of Miss Alice Mabel Cunningham and Jesse R. Ray. Jr., was solemnized on Saturday morn ing at 9 o'clock at the First Bap tist church. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Eugene R. Eller, .pastor of the church, in the presence of an assemblage of relatives and friends The church was beautifully decorat ed in an arrav of fink and white serine flowers. Against a " back gre md of green were placed love ly floor baskets, tilled wim ciog; wood blossoms, wild plum, carna tior.s and snao-dracons. Smaller baskets of white narcissus and lil acs were placed in the window. The nuptial music was played by Mrs. Harry Higgins. They strew pink and white rose petals from beauti ful flower baskets.- The petite young bride,, lovely in hex weddinc eown. entered with her sister, Mrs. Burton C, Boes ser. and was met at the altar by the uroom, and his best man, Wil liam T. Moore. The beauty of the bride was enhanced by her gown of powder, blue crepe with a be coming hat of imported straw to match. She carried a large arm bouquet of Columbia roses tied with pink tulle. Mrs. Burton Boesser, of Greens boro, sister of the bride,' was mat ron of honor and only attendant. She was gowned m a becoming ensemble of. navy blue crepe with beige trimmings. Her hat was navy blue straw, and she wore a shoulder corsage of Ophelia roses. The bride is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs. John F". Cunningham of Franklin, and was educated at Western Carolina Teachers College. For the past few years she has been a teacher in the schools of Macon county, andt has a widt circle of friends. The' groom is the son of Jesse Rav of Franklin. For several years he was employed in the Forest Ser vice. He is now employed by the Dr.- Pepper Bottling company of Greensboro, N. C. Following the ceremony, Auxiliary Reorganizes The Young Woman's Auxiliary of the Franklin Baptist church met Mondav afternoon at 4 o'clock for the purpose of reorganizing.
