DUNCAN The Psalmist . prayed ' that he miuht be delivered from presump tuous sins. This would have been a great prayer for the generation to which many of us belong. One can not persistently violate God's laws and expect to reap the ben eficerit effects of those laws. The benefits of any law 'lies within it Obedience to it is the only way to get its benefits," Jesus knew that He was. safe m His Fathers keep ing, yet He refused to fly into the face of the law of gravitation, and throw Himself from the Temple Trust ,-a'til obedience "go together, Every thought and every act of man have corresponding effects, God does not punish; 'w4e simply reap what we have savn. So, even though we have professe3 'trust in God, we have done so presump tuously, and built up a kingdom which is more material than spirit ual. Should we be surprised then that we are suffering the ill effects today of having violated law ? God has promised to keep us within His law, not outside it.
