' The lead was sung by James Por ter with a well blended chorus con sisting of the Misses Roseland Bul gin, Willie Mae Ledford, Elsie Ader and Edwina Dalrymple, with Mrs. Duncan at the piano. Al though this number was not writ tv .by MacDowell, it was by an American composer and was in keeping with the spirit of a Mac Dowell program. Mrs. Howard Horsley gave an interesting sketch of MacDowell's lifeC emphasizing the inspiration such :i great American composers shoufi give to-young composers. ..Miss Elsie. C. Bryant last Wednesday for an all day sewing for the Red Cross. A bounteous picnic dinner was served at the noon , hour and a goodly number of garments were made.
